Premier League: City 2-1 Brentford; Southampton 0-3 Man Utd

MANCHESTER: Erling Haaland was at his brilliant best with a brace that helped the Cityzens clock up a three point haul that was truly well earned from Brentford F.C.

Yoane Wissa shocked the Etihad with an opener in the first minute – after 22 seconds, in fact!

The Bees buzzed all over the Blues in those opening exchanges and could have been further in front before Haaland hit top gear.

The striker first blasted home a right foot effort on 11 minutes before doubling his and the team’s tally just past the half hour mark with a clinical caressed dink following a stunning ball through to him by ace assister Ederson.

In another PL clash, Manchester United produced a professional performance to beat struggling Southampton 3-0 and once again ease the pressure on manager Erik ten Hag.

Victory on the south coast meant United avoided a run of three straight Premier League defeats for the first time since 2015.
