Port-Gentil, Gabon,February 04 (QNA) – Alain Traore scored in the 89th minute, helping Burkina Faso to claim third place at the Africa Cup of Nations with a 1-0 victory over Ghana on Saturday in Port-Gentil, Gabon.
The Kayserispor midfielder Traore’s goal secured Burkina Faso their second Afcon medal following their runners-up showing to Nigeria in 2013.
Four-time champions Ghana leave Gabon empty handed for the third time in the last four cups, despite reaching the semi-finals all four times, dpa reported.
The 2017 Africa Cup of Nations will end on Sunday with record seven-time champions Egypt facing four-time winners Cameroon at Stade de Libreville in the Gabonese capital.
