Amman, An earthquake of a 5.9 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Ternate city in Indonesia on Wednesday, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said .

According to the Antara news agency, the quake’s epicenter was located at 0.78 degree latitude and 126.2 degree longitude, some 130 km southwest of Ternate.

Lumajang, Karangkates, Kuta, Nusa Dua and Malang also felt the tremor. However, no tsunami warning was issued, the agency added.

“No injuries or damages were reported so far”, it added.
