ABU DHABI, Abu Dhabi fight fans are in for a night of action as Yas Island’s Etihad Arena is set to host a fight night like no other on 21 May as part of Abu Dhabi’s Summer Like You Mean It campaign. The event features superstars of both the boxing and MMA worlds.
Undefeated boxing champion Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather is set to return to the ring with a blockbuster bout against ‘Dangerous’ Don Moore, with the Abu Dhabi Unity Boxing event hosted by Visit Abu Dhabi and delivered by FrontRow Entertainment and ITP Live. The fight card will also feature another bout between MMA legend Anderson ‘The Spider’ Silva, who will be taking on UAE champion Bruno Machado.
The event will also see a WBC title fight between champion and Belgian legend Delfine Persoon and undefeated champion Elhem Mekhaled for the vacant WBC Silver Belt, as well as Former World Champion in two weight classes Badou Jack vs. Hany Atiyo in a clash of warriors that have roots here in the UAE.
Abu Dhabi has built up a world-class reputation in recent years for safely and securely hosting high profile international sporting events, such as the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the HSBC Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, the Indian Premier League, the ITU world triathlon, FINA World Championships and the World T20 Cricket Championships. Abu Dhabi will also be the first in the region to host NBA pre-season basketball games taking place this October.
