ACC issues 29K certificates of origin in 2021

The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) issued 28,999 certificates of origin in the first nine months of 2021, a 15.8-percent increase from 25,036 certificates issued in the corresponding period of 2020.

According to figures released Monday, the value of certificates of origin issued by the ACC stood at JD546 million in the first nine months of 2021, compared to JD675 million in the same period of 2020, constituting a 19 percent drop.

In its country breakdown of the figures, the ACC noted that a total of 8,259 certificates were issued for shipments exported to Saudi Arabia, followed by the United Arab Emirates (3,791), Oman (1,708), Iraq (1,181) and Egypt (903).

The majority of exports over the past year went to Iraq which accounted for JD156 million, followed by the Saudi Arabia (JD59 million), Oman (JD44 million), Egypt (JD43 million), and the United Arab Emirates (JD42 million).

Furthermore, the value of re-exports (exports of foreign products) stood at JD281 million in the first nine months of the current year, while the value of agricultural exports amounted to JD122 million, JD81 million for industrial exports, and JD26 million for Arab products.
