After his meeting with Davutoglu, Shukri says, “We agreed to formulate a framework to work together to reach elections and a government that expresses the Libyan people.”

“I sensed Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu’s understanding of the importance of the Libyan issue’s impact on Egyptian national security, and this is a good approach. There is consensus among us to see a stable, sovereign Libya,” stated Egypt’s Foreign Minister Samih Shukri.

“Turkey has interests in Libya, and we don’t set restrictions on any relations as long as they do not affect Egyptian national security,” Shukri added in a press statement after concluding his visit to Ankara.

“I sensed a response from the Turkish minister (on this file), and this is encouraging, and we agreed to formulate frameworks for working together in the coming stages of this file until we reach the goal, which is holding elections and reaching a government that expresses the Libyan people,” he added.
