Amman, The Ministry of Water and Irrigation and the Water Authority of Jordan on Tuesday sealed an agreement to construct a new storage water tank in the southern Ma'an/Shoubak governorate to improve water supply with a self-financing value of JD159,000.
The agreement was signed by Minister of Water, Raed Abu Al-Saud, and Secretary General of the Water Authority, Iyad Dahiyat.
"The new water tank will be completed in the coming four months in the Hamza water pumping station in the Shoubak, with a storage capacity of 500 m3, " the minister said .
"The new tank will improve the water supply to the people living in the area, through increasing the efficiency of the service provided, developing and rehabilitating water networks and reducing water losses," he added.
A local contractor will implement the new project to increase the capacity of the current pumping station and raise its operational capacity, he explained.
