Al-Araji chairs a meeting to discuss the international effort to end the terrorist threat of ISIS

The National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, chaired today, Sunday, a meeting to discuss the international effort to end the terrorist threat of ISIS, in the presence of the Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team of the UN Security Council, and with the participation of the relevant Iraqi authorities.

The chancellery stated in a statement: “The meeting discussed the international effort to end the terrorist threat of ISIS and the threat it poses to international peace and security, as well as support for Iraq’s efforts to receive wanted ISIS terrorists, against whom international notices have been issued.

During the meeting also, countries were urged to implement UN Security Council resolutions to recover stolen Iraqi antiquities that were seized by the terrorist ISIS in Iraq.

The international team appreciated the efforts of Iraq and the sacrifices made by its people in the fight against the terrorist ISIS, stressing the importance of the continued support of the international community for Iraq in confronting and eliminating terrorism, as well as returning its stolen antiquities and handing over the wanted people.

The meeting comes with the analytical support and sanctions monitoring team of the UN Security Council on a regular basis, in order to support Iraq in its war against terrorism, and within the requirements of UN Security Council resolutions.
