Al Jarwan stresses importance of Document on Human Fraternity on occasion of International Day of Human Fraternity


ABU DHABI: Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, said that the Council adopts the Document on Human Fraternity, which was signed by His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, and His Holiness Pope Francis, Head of the Catholic Church, in Abu Dhabi on 4th February 2019, as a global charter and constitution for humanity.

Al Jarwan emphasised that the Document on Human Fraternity has enshrined many of the fundamental principles recognised by the majority of the world’s countries, such as justice and the rights of women and children, and has also placed them within the framework of tolerance, outlining a roadmap for the future of humanity as a whole.

Al Jarwan stressed that the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace is working with all its bodies to cooperate with all concerned parties and institutions to support the Document on Human Fraternity and celebrate the International Day of Human Fraternity, stressing the Council’s keenness to celebrate thi
s day through its bodies represented by the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace.

He added that the Council also seeks to implement what is stated in this document through the General Assembly for Tolerance and Peace, which works in cooperation with partners, universities and various civil society institutions.
