Doha, - Al Rayyan overcame Al Sadd 27-26 in a match that took place Tuesday at Duhail Sports Hall as part of the second stage of the handball league.

On the other hand, Al Sadd managed six points from one win and three defeats, limiting their chances of competing for the top three positions with just one game remaining against Al Gharafa.
Despite dominating the match in the first half and ending it five goals ahead on 16-15, Al Rayyan managed to establish a brilliant comeback in the second half to turn the match in their favor and clinch the winning goal in the dying moments.
In another match today, Al Qiyadah beat Al Gharafa 25-22 to take their toll to 10 points and join El Jaish on top but having played one game more than El Jaish who still have two matches left against Al Gharafa and Al Rayyan. Al Gharafa, meanwhile, played their first match in the second stage.
Al Qiyadah ended the first half 13-11 ahead and kept their lead into the second half despite attempts from Al Gharafa to come back to the game.
