Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, confirmed that the rationality of the government’s discourse represented a strength in the face of abuses of religious sanctities.
He said in a statement: “The statement of the Supreme Religious Authority, the peaceful demonstration and respect for the security of diplomatic missions, was a pillar of our dialogues with European, Arab and Islamic groups.
Al-Sahhaf explained that “the rationality of the government’s discourse represented a great force in standing up to insults to religious sanctities and respecting the feelings of about two billion Muslims around the world.”
