Al-Sudani chairs the first regular session of the Council of Heads of Independent Bodies and Bodies Not Associated with a Ministry

The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, chaired today, Thursday, the first regular session of the Council of Heads of Independent Bodies and Bodies Not Associated with a Ministry.

The media office of the Prime Minister said in a statement, “The meeting witnessed a discussion of the work of the bodies and ways to develop the level of their performance and the services they provide to citizens, as well as deliberation of a number of files related to their work, and consideration of the issues on the agenda.

During the session, the Prime Minister referred to the role of bodies and entities not associated with a Ministry, and the government’s keenness to perform their duties in accordance with what was decreed in the law and the constitution, stressing the importance of integration among bodies, ministries and governorates within the context of the plans drawn up by the state, which is an important precursor to implementing the priorities of the government program properly.

Al-Sudani stressed that the independence of the bodies and institutions does not mean that they operate in isolation from the rest of the state institutions, but rather everyone is concerned with implementing the general policies of the state, and implementing the set priorities, foremost of which is administrative reform and combating corruption, indicating that the bodies are part of the state institutions concerned with providing services to citizens, and this issue shall be present in the procedures of the President of the Commission, his field visits, and his daily work.

The statement stated, “The Council discussed mechanisms for coordinating work between the Martyrs Foundation and the relevant authorities regarding the rights of its beneficiaries, and coordinating work between the Political Prisoners Foundation and the Ministry of Finance regarding the institution’s allocations within the 2023 budget, as well as discussing the obstacles that hinder the work of the border crossings, and the proposals made by the stock Commissions, with regard to developing its work to serve the public interest, and also looked into the needs of the Iraqi Scientific Complex, as well as the requests of the Iraqi Commission for the Control of Radioactive Sources./ End
