Al-Sudani hosts the periodic meeting of the State Administration Coalition

The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, hosted, this evening, Tuesday, the periodic meeting of the State Administration Coalition.

During the meeting, developments in the general situation throughout Iraq were discussed, and a number of political and economic files were discussed, the stages of implementing the government program, and its priorities that topped the plans and programs prepared, and the most prominent challenges that impede the progress of implementation and ways to address them.

The meeting discussed the ongoing dialogues regarding the draft oil and gas law, and the results of the technical meeting, which was held last week in the presence of representatives of the political forces, officials of the Federal Ministry of Oil and the Ministry of Natural Resources in the Kurdistan Regional Government, experts and legal experts, and the government’s keenness to continue the dialogues to mature the final draft of the law, in preparation for submitting it to the House of Representatives after it is approved by the Council of Ministers.

The meeting witnessed a discussion of the governmental measures taken to stabilize the currency market, and the government’s efforts to continue pursuing major currency speculators, who cause destabilization of the market and the national economy.

It also dealt with the mechanisms to be taken to close the unofficial outlets, based on the political agreement in force, and the efforts aimed at subsidizing the state’s non-oil imports to deal with unilateral funding of the federal budget.
