Amman Chamber of Commerce reports over AED960 million in exports in Jan-Feb 2023

AJMAN, 8th March, 2023 (WAM) The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) has reported a substantial increase of 50.7% in the value of certificates of origin issued for exporting goods and commodities to Arab and foreign countries in January and February of 2023, totalling JD185 million (AED962.9 million), Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported.

This figure represents a significant increase from the JD123 million recorded during the same period in 2022. The number of certificates of origin issued also rose to 4,053, compared to 3,240 in 2021, as per ACC data released on Wednesday.

The majority of exports in January and February 2023 went to Iraq, accounting for JD94 million, followed by Switzerland JD15 million, Saudi Arabia and Egypt JD15 million respectively and the United Arab Emirates JD11 million.

Saudi Arabia received the highest number of certificates of origin, with 785 issued, followed by the UAE with 533, Iraq with 349, Egypt with 149, and Switzerland with only two. Additionally, the value of re-exports stood at JD104 million, while the value of Arab exports was at JD27 million. Industrial exports amounted to JD17 million and agricultural exports reached JD16 million.
