Attack kills two soldiers, two militants in Pakistan

At least two “terrorists” and as many soldiers were killed on Friday in an attack targeting a security forces camp in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province on Friday, said military.

According to a press release by Pakistan military’s media wing Inter Services public Relations (ISPR), “group of terrorists attacked a Frontier Constabulary camp in Muslim Bagh area in northern Balochistan.” It confirmed that two soldiers were killed and three others received injuries in the process of clearance operation. The military said that two terrorists were killed by the security forces that continue to maintain pressure on the terrorists. The releases said that an operation by the security forces was “under way to capture the terrorists who have been cornered into a building complex” while a heavy exchange of fire was also taking place. “Commander 12 Corps is supervising the security forces operations being conducted at Muslim Bagh area in Balochistan where terrorists have been cornered,” ISPR concluded.

Earlier last week, at least six Pakistan Army soldiers and three militants were killed during an exchange of fire with “terrorists” in Pakistan’s northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province. The attacks by the militants came at a time when Pakistan military has paced up security operations across the country following a rise in militant attacks since the banned outfit Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) ended its ceasefire with the government in November last year.
