Munich, – Bayern Munich’s star striker Robert Lewandowski returned Sunday to training, as his team prepares to overturn their 1-2 deficit to Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu next Tuesday.
The former Borussia Dortmund star missed the first leg where his team squandered a 0-1 deficit after going down to 10 men. He is currently the Bundesliga’s joint top scorer with 26 goals. His return is one positive in a sea of bad news as both center backs Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng are injured. Their back up, Javier Martinez, is suspended for the return leg.
Lewandowski terrorized Real Madrid in 2013 when Dortmund defeated the royal club 4-1. The striker scored all four goals as he punished Real Madrid’s back line. The goals ranged from volleys, to long range pile drivers and a penalty. (QNA)
