Campaign launched to attract tourists from GCC region

A multi-platform promotional campaign was launched Sunday targeting tourists from the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region as authorities strive to thrust recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.

The “Tanafas” (Breathe) campaign is managed by the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) and is primarily intended to promote the Kingdom as the best summer destination for GCC nationals.

“Jordan has a safe, diverse and rich tourist offering preferred by Arab Gulf tourists”, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Nayef Hamidi Al-Fayez said in a press release.

He indicated that authorities were keen to ensure health protocols and infection controls are in place for all stakeholders, including tourists and workers.

For his part, JTB Director-General Abdulrazzaq Arabiyat said: “We have lived through two exhausting years during which the pandemic had a direct toll on tourism”, adding that the title of the campaign reflects everyone’s desire to move and travel freely.

According to Arabiyat, the campaign entails cooperation with GCC-based travel and tourism agents and includes the dissemination of leaflets and advertisements in commercial centers and on social media.
