Committee formed to follow up on Baghdad summit outcome

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry Monday announced the formation of a committee of foreign ministers of the countries that took part in the Baghdad Summit for Cooperation and Partnership, which was held Saturday, to follow up on the outcome of the meeting.

Ministry spokesman Ahmad Al-Sahaf said that Iraq is working with its neighbors and partners, stemming from a commitment to collective initiatives and to underscore openness to all parties within national sovereignty and common interests criteria.

He said that the summit’s outcome, as stated in the final statement, marked “a new type of partnership and cooperation in terms of economy and investment between the participating countries.”

Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Turkey, Iran and France took part in the summit.
