Deputy Governor of Makkah Region Chairs Meeting of Central Hajj Committee


Makkah: Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz has chaired a Central Hajj Committee meeting to review issues related to Umrah and Hajj under the directive of Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of Makkah region and Chairman of the Central Hajj Committee Prince Khaled Al-Faisal.

Prince Saud bin Mishaal conveyed the greetings of the Makkah Governor to all those who worked during the Ramadan Umrah season. He acknowledged their efforts, which contributed to the success of the operational plans aimed at making it easier for the visitors and Umrah performers to perform their rituals safely and comfortably.

He emphasized that the coordination among the authorities concerned had a great impact, and helped nurture a safe environment for the unprecedented number of visitors to the Grand Mosque this year.

The committee reviewed the results of the work the agencies involved carried out during the Ramadan season, including in the field of transportation, where
2,260 buses transported 61 million passengers to and from the Grand Mosque. Ambulance and health services were reviewed, with the fact that no epidemics were detected highlighted, as were catering, and nutrition services, which were responsible for distributing more than 20 million meals in different locations in Makkah.

The committee also discussed the authorities’ plans for the remainder of the Umrah season, the achievements so far, and ways to boost them.

Also on the table were observations, ways to avoid and address possible issues, as well as the plans and preparations for the Hajj season 1445 AH.
