Industry and Trade Office in the Capital Secretariat destroyed 340 tons of expired food that was not fit for human consumption.
The Industry Office Director in the Secretariat, Majid Al-Sada, explained to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that 224 tons of these materials were destroyed today,Sunday, and 116 tons during the past two days, which included yoghurt, milk and juices.
He indicated that the destruction was carried out in accordance with legal procedures, and in the presence of a member of the Industry and Trade Prosecution. .
He stressed the keenness to continue the field committees of the Industry Office and its branches in the directorates, to markets and commercial stores, strengthen control over food commodities, control price violations, and take legal measures against violators.
