Dubai Police Hosts Student Innovation Forum as Part of UAE Innovates 2023

Aimed at encouraging innovative ideas and driving progress in all sectors of society, the Dubai Police has organised the Student Innovation Forum with the participation of more than 130 male and female students who reviewed more than 35 innovative projects.

The event was held in conjunction with the UAE Innovation Month (UAE Innovates 2023) and was organised by the Dubai Police Innovation Council and the General Department of Administrative Affairs in partnership with the Dubai Police Student Council and Hemaya International Centre to provide a platform for students to showcase their creative ideas and projects and have them assessed by a panel of experts from Dubai Police and Hemaya International Centre.

The event was also an opportunity for students to develop their skills and demonstrate their ability to contribute to the future of the UAE. The innovative projects presented by the students covered a range of fields, including artificial intelligence, renewable energy, robotics, and sustainability.

Colonel Mansour Al Gergawi, Director of the General Department of Administrative Affairs at Dubai Police, emphasised that Dubai Police recognises the value of promoting innovation among school students, as it plays a crucial role in cultivating a generation capable of driving the process of civilised development in the United Arab Emirates.

“The UAE places great emphasis on innovation, and Dubai Police is committed to aligning with the initiatives of “UAE Innovates 2023,” a program launched by the UAE government in partnership with executive councils across the country. This program is focused on the pillar of sustainability, which aligns with the UAE’s President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, declaration of 2023 as the year of sustainability,” he said.

Al Gergawi further stated that the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al-Marri, consistently emphasises the need to support students from Hemaya schools in Dubai Police and engage them in targeted activities with other schools across the emirate and the country. He added that “Dubai Police remains committed to supporting and promoting innovation in the UAE, and the Student Innovation Forum is just one of the many initiatives that the force has implemented to achieve this goal.”

Dubai Police Student Innovation Forum serves as a platform for students from Hemaya schools to interact and collaborate with their peers from seven other participating schools. The forum takes place in the Dubai Police Security Innovation Lab, which provides a dynamic and stimulating environment for students to share their ideas and encourages them to pursue their dreams, aspirations, and future innovations.
