Dudin: Jordan’s stances reflect ‘unwavering’ positions towards Palestinian cause

Minister of State for Media Affairs, Sakher Dudin, said Jordan’s official and popular stances towards the Palestinian cause are “identical,” which reflect “unwavering” positions led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, to find a political horizon for achieving comprehensive and lasting peace, which meets rights of the Palestinian people.

Dudin, who is also the government’s official spokesperson, said: “The Jordanian stances, led by His Majesty, have not altered by the conditions of war, peace or calm,” adding that Jordan has always made sacrifices to defend justice of the Palestinian cause.

Speaking at the second session of the conference: “The Hashemites and Jerusalem: A History of Care and Protection,” organized by the Lower House Palestine Committee, on Thursday, Dudin said His Majesty King Abdullah II’s local, regional and international speeches always emphasize that Jerusalem is “a red line,” and that Palestine is Jordan’s “just and key” cause.

“There is no solution to the regional and global conflicts without finding a just and comprehensive solution to them, in accordance with the international legitimacy resolutions and international law, ” the minister noted.

The minister also referred to the King’s stance warning that provocative Israeli practices and repeated violations against the brotherly Palestinian people will only lead to more escalation and violence, and push the region towards more tension.

Dudin, moreover, drew attention to the King’s “unceasing” political and diplomatic efforts, under the “historic” Hashemite custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, to preserve the city’s historical and legal status quo.

In this context, Dudin emphasized that the historical Hashemite custodianship is “a responsibility,” which His Majesty King Abdullah II harnesses to preserve the Islamic and Christian sanctities in Al-Quds Al-Sharif, and stop the Israeli violations and provocations that target Jerusalem’s Arab identity and sanctities.
