The Energy Police seized a factory used to recycle and smuggle oil derivatives in Basra.
A statement by the Ministry of Interior stated: The detachments of the Energy Police Directorate represented by the Eighth Brigade, in coordination with the Intelligence and Personnel Security Units of the Energy Police, were able to seize a factory for recycling and smuggling oil derivatives in Basra Governorate, as it contained 6 large iron tanks with large capacities ranging between “2000, 3000, 7000, 20000, 40000 and 54000” filled with an oil product of unknown quality, in addition to 3 electric generators.
He added that the detachments of the Fourth Brigade also seized three vehicles intended for smuggling oil products and arrested their owners in the capital, Baghdad.
