ERC honours COP28 committee members, volunteers and employees

ABU DHABI: The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) honoured members of the COP28 committee and social media influencers, in addition to several ERC volunteers and employees who contributed to the success of the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28).

During the ceremony held today at the ERC Headquarters in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of Rashid Mubarak Al Mansouri, Acting Secretary-General of Emirates Red Crescent Authority, and the Deputy Secretaries-General, the ERC presented certificates of appreciation to the honourees, recognising their role in enhancing the humanitarian and sustainable development response of the organisation.

During the conference, the ERC showcased its significant achievements in sustainability and its projects related to renewable energy worldwide and water purification. It highlighted the creation of eco-friendly housing units made from palm fronds and recycled materials. The ERC also emphasised utilising the Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies in various aspects to en
hance project initiatives.

The ERC’s participation encompassed several vital areas the climate conference believed were significant. These include initiatives in sustainable development, food security, response, preparedness, and volunteerism.
