Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi on Tuesday received telephone calls Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde and Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod during which they exchanged views on rising tension in the region as a result of the crisis between the United States and Iran.

Safadi and his Swedish and Danish counterparts reaffirmed the three countries' common position on the need to intensify the international community's efforts to de-escalate tension and find a political solution to the crisis.

They also agreed on supporting Iraq's stability and security and preserving the cohesion of the international coalition against Daesh terror gangs.
