Rome, – Lazio beat arch-rivals Roma 3-1 in Serie A on Saturday. It was the first time that Lazio won the Rome derby since November 2012.
Balde Keita was the star of the match, scoring a brace to help his side to the derby win. Dusan Basta scored Lazio’s second goal, sandwiched in between Keita’s brace. Before Basta’s goal, Daniele De Rossi had scored the equalizer for Roma from a controversial penalty.
Roma, who had Antonio Rudiger sent off late on, are now nine points behind leaders Juventus. There are only four games left to play, meaning Roma have virtually no chance of winning the title this year. Lazio meanwhile are in fourth place, four points behind Napoli having played a game more. Only the top three qualify for the Champions League next season. (QNA)
