GAM mayor elected UCLG’s co-chair

Amman, The Sixth Conference of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG)- Middle East and West Asia, which wrapped up its activities here on Thursday, elected Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), Yousef Shawarbeh, a co-chair of the organization and its Smart Cities and Urban Mobility Committee.

During the closing session, Shawarbeh said the GAM's participation in the UCLG's activities is a motive to enhance the "qualitative" relations that serve their joint strategic plans and achieve the GAM's sustainable development goals.

The UCLG's final session discussed the organization's strategic plan in the area of migration management, social cohesion, climate change adaptation mechanisms, urban, preemptive resilience measures to address disasters, local development and governance.

UCLG, was established in 2004, has promoted the values ??and objectives of cities and local governments throughout the world.
