Doha, - HH the Emir's shooting and archery championship will kick off Thursday at Lusail Shooting Complex and will last until April 28, featuring an elite selection of 150 Qatari national team shooters in the shotgun, pistol and archery competitions.
Tournament organizing committee chief, Majed Ahmed Al Nuaimi, said all preparations are finished, expressing hope that all shooters will be at their best.
He added that shooters prepared well for the event and participated in several domestic and international tournaments, which will add more competitiveness to the championship, especially as the Shooting and Archery Association is introducing a number of young shooters to give them a chance to get into the competitive atmosphere of the tournament so that they would be ready for future competitions.
In turn, tournament director Hussein Al Sada said preparations for HH the Emir's shooting championship started after the end of Qatar Open Shotgun tournament, adding that the aim was to continue the sports activity and enhance the capacities of participants.
Al Sada said that a meeting was held with the organizing committees of the event so as to ensure the organization is done at an optimal manner, wishing that the tournament will achieve the usual success. (QNA)
