His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, today received Guy Ryder, the Director-General of the International Labour Organisation, ILO, on the sidelines of the World Government Summit, WGS, in Dubai.
At the meeting, which was attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed and Ryder discussed the importance of enhancing the regulations concerning workers with emphasis on preserving their rights and human dignity.
For his part, Ryder praised the UAE's rules and regulations that guarantee the rights of foreign workers in various aspects such as appropriate housing and medical treatment.
Ryder is participating in the WGS in which the ILO will reveal its annual report on the status of workers across the world.
The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group; H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and The Future; Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation; and Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman; Director-General of Dubai's Department of Protocol and Hospitality.
