The Lower House on Sunday continued deliberations of the draft law to regulate insurance business.
In its morning session, headed by Speaker Atef Tarawneh, and attended by Prime Minister, Omar Razzaz, and the Cabinet members, the deputies also referred the local administration bill to its joint Legal and Administrative Committee.
According to its mandating reasons, the local administration bill aims to enhance popular participation in decision-making, and implement the decentralization principle at the governorate level, which will see specific ministry's powers transferred to their departments across the Kingdom.
As per the law, the integrative role among provincial and municipal councils will be fostered by defining powers and tasks of each party in a manner that unleashes development and investment potentials in those regions.
