Amman, Speaker of the Lower House, Atef Tarawneh, received on Wednesday a copy of the 2018 Audit Bureau report from its President Assem Haddad.
Tarawneh highly appreciated the bureau's great role as an oversight arm of the Lower House on the government's work in maintaining public funds and combating all forms of financial and administrative corruption, stressing the House's continued support to the bureau to enable it to carry out its oversight duties.
Tarawneh said the Lower House takes the bureau's reports seriously, and reviews them through its specialized committees.
For his part, Haddad stressed the House's leading role in serving the national economy, and modernizing legislation governing the process of comprehensive development, in a bid to strengthen the principles of accountability and transparency, as well as the preservation of public money and the rule of law.
Haddad expressed his appreciation to the House for its continued support to the bureau, stressing its full readiness to cooperate and coordinate with the various House's committees to discuss the report's contents and to maintain its policy aimed to enhance development and performance.
