Israeli troops detained 17 Palestinians during raids across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem Saturday as the occupation army announced it is raising its alert level ahead of the Jewish holidays.
The Palestinian Prisoners Club said in a statement that occupation forces stormed the cities Ramallah, El Bireh, Bethlehem, Hebron, Tulkarem and several neighborhoods of East Jerusalem, and rounded up the Palestinians, who were wanted by the military authorities.
In the meantime, the occupation army announced a state of heightened alert over the Jewish holidays in anticipation of protests, particularly after six prisoners who broke out from a high security Israeli jail were re-arrested, triggered widespread Palestinian outrage.
