Jaber border crossing to resume full operations on Sunday: Interior Minister

Jaber border crossing will resume full operations as of Sunday, August 1, Interior Minister Mazen Faraiah announced Wednesday.

Faraiah said that the decision was based on Prime Minister, Bisher Khasawneh’s directives during his visit to the border crossing on July 8, and after conducting full field arrangements with the Syrian side.

The new procedures will include the following: First: Canceling of the back to back for goods and passengers.

Second: Allowing buses to cross to the Syrian side and get back from it.

Third: Allowing the departure of persons of different nationalities to Syria without the need for prior approval from the Jordanian side.

Fourth: Allowing foreign travel vehicles to operate between the two countries at a rate of 100 vehicles per day.

Fifth: Allowing transit buses from Syria to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to cross, provided they register on the Saudi “Tawakkalna” platform, which is approved to receive Corona vaccines.
