Earlier, introducing His Majesty, UK Secretary of State for International Development Penny Mordaunt said Jordan is one of Britain’s closest friends and allies in the Middle East, highlighting the historical ties between the two countries.
“As our Prime Minister Theresa May made clear on her most recent visit to Amman: Britain will always be a partner you can depend on,” Mordaunt said.
“Be it fighting terrorism, working together to pursue stability in the Middle East, or finding opportunities for international trade, we greatly value our partnership and in the spirit of mutual interest,” she added.
Prime Minister Omar Razzaz, Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Adviser to His Majesty and Director of the Office of His Majesty Manar Dabbas, Adviser to His Majesty for Economic Affairs Mohamad Ississ, members of the ministerial delegation, and a number of international officials and representatives of the local private sector, as well as global investors, attended the speech.
