Local boxing promoter Kinda Nangolo is a man possessed and finds himself in unscheduled sparring sessions against fellow promoters – throwing wild jabs and bare-knuckled uppercuts at his former boxing buddies.
The pint-sized boxing promoter with the sharp-tongue recently told the President of International Boxing Federation
(IBF) Africa, Onesmo Ngowi, in no uncertain terms where to get off.
Nangolo is infuriated by Ngowi’s apparent interference in the internal affairs of Namibian boxing and humbly requested the Tanzanian national not to overstep his boundaries. “He (Ngowi) keeps saying that Gotlieb Ndokosho is managed by Salute Promotions, which is not the true. Ndokosho is strictly under the management of Kinda Promotions. He has a binding contract with the said company.
Ngowi should refrain from bringing politics into Namibian boxing aimed at advancing his own personal agenda,” Nangolo furiously charged. Reports in Tanzania – attributed to Ngowi – suggest that Salute Boxing Promotions Academy manages the former IBF International Featherweight, King Gottlieb Ndokosho, and has been approached for Ndokosho to fight against Cosmas Cheka for the IBF Continental Africa, Middle East & Persian Gulf Featherweight title, as part of the Knockout Albinos Killers campaign.
The “Knockout Albinos Killers” is a sporting and advocacy event to be coordinated by Miss Tanzania 2012, Brigitte Alfred, through her organisation, called the Brigitte Alfred Foundation.
The aim of the event is to create awareness of and to advocate against abuse of Albinos and to fight for their full integration into society.
