Doha- Secretary General of the Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation Mohammed Salim Al Nuaimi, was elected as the President of the Asian Confederation of Billiard Sports by acclamation during the Federation general assembly for a term of three years until 2020.
Al-Naimi won the elections held at the Holiday Villa Hotel in Doha on the sidelines of the 33rd Asian Men’s Snooker Championship, hosted by the Qatar Federation with participation of 68 players from 24 countries.
The electoral process was held in a transparent atmosphere in the presence of members representing 26 countries. It was evident that members were keen on the interests of the Confederation and working to develop it for the better at the beginning of a new era.
Al-Nuaimi has become the second Qatari to be elected president of the Asian Confederation of Billiard Sports , replacing his compatriot Mubarak Al-Khayarin, to crown his outstanding efforts over the past years to serve the game in Qatar, the Gulf, Asia or internationally.
For his part, Mohammed Salem Al Nuaimi expressed his pleasure over the confidence of the General Assembly of the Asian Confederation of Billiard Sports after his election by acclamation. He expressed his hope that he would be responsible during his mandate for the Federation and continue his efforts to develop the Snooker sport at the continental level.
