The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has called upon visitors who have entered Qatar through Hamad International Airport (HIA) through a 'tourist visa on-arrival' visa and wish to extend it for a further 30-day period to do that electronically via the ministry's website, and not through the Airport Passports Department.
Director of the Airport Passports Department, Colonel Muhammad Rashid al-Mazrouie, said the department adopted electronic technology in all transactions related to public visas, including the free tourist visa on-arrival, which consists of 47 countries whose nationals are eligible for a waiver that is valid for 30 days from the date of issuance. The visa holder can apply for a renewal of the waiver for an additional 30 days in Qatar.
Al-Mazrouie added that those who wish to extend for another 30 days must complete the procedures through the MoI's website for free.
