More than 150 healthcare facilities across Abu Dhabi provide ‘IFHAS’ programme services

ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC) of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), the regulator of the healthcare sector in the emirate, revealed that more than 150 healthcare facilities across Abu Dhabi offer the ‘IFHAS’ comprehensive health screening programme to all Thiqa cardholders aged between 18 and 75 years.

Notably, members of the community can book appointments or visit any of the facilities that provide screening services, including those affiliated with Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA,) M42, NMC Healthcare, Mediclinic Middle East and Burjeel Holdings.

ADPHC announced recently that the IFHAS comprehensive health screening programme has become one of the main requirements to maintain eligibility for the full insurance benefits. The programme contributes to preventing diseases and early detection of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, common cancers, oral and dental health, bone health and mental health. The screenings include a full health risk assessment b
ased on a general health questionnaire and the results of comprehensive clinical examinations.

Dr. Omniyat Al Hajeri, Executive Director of the Community Health Sector at ADPHC, said, ‘The Comprehensive Health Screening Programme is one of the most important initiatives launched by the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre. It plays pivotal role in improving the health and safety of community members through early detection of diseases, alongside providing care and proactive measures that enhance treatment outcomes. We at ADPHC call to book an appointment and complete the screening process, which takes between two to four hours and is an investment in a healthier life.’

Dr. Asma Al Halaseh, Chief Executive Officer of Ambulatory Healthcare Services (AHS), a subsidiary of PureHealth, said, ‘At the Ambulatory Healthcare Services, we are committed to improving the health and well-being of communities in Abu Dhabi through proactive preventative screening programmes in collaboration with our partners – the Department of
Health – Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre. We have streamlined the IFHAS screening process for our patients and facilitated accessible care. We encourage all Thiqa cardholders to book their appointments and ensure they and their loved ones secure their health and well-being.’

Safeya Almqtri, Deputy Group Chief Operations Officer at M42, said, ‘We at M42 are honoured to participate in the comprehensive health screening programme ‘IFHAS’ in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Since we collaborated in 2022 with Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre, we have been committed to ensuring the health and safety of the community members, by offering basic healthcare services. Our participation in the programme reflects our dedication to providing high-quality healthcare services and contributing to the early diagnosis and prevention of diseases.’

Dr. Zaka Ullah Khan, NMC’s Deputy Chief Clinical Officer, said, ‘NMC is honoured to provide the IFHAS screening programme for Thiqa patients in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. IFHAS sc
reenings play a central role in preventing illness and keeping the community healthy. The insights that IFHAS screenings provide helps your doctor to detect warning signs of illness and disease early, often before there are symptoms, which enables you to make informed medical decisions to manage the illness, help prevent complications, or stop the progression of the disease altogether.’

Hein van Eck, Chief Executive Officer of Mediclinic Middle East, said, ‘Mediclinic Middle East is honoured to have been selected by Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre to offer IFHAS screening to Thiqa patients aged 18 and above. We remain steadfast in our commitment to preserving the health of the community and to facilitating their health screening across selected Mediclinic facilities in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra Region.’

John Sunil, CEO of Burjeel Holdings, said, ‘We are immensely proud to be a part of the ‘IFHAS’ programme. This initiative marks a significant milestone in our enduring dedication to public health and pr
