Doha, - HE Minister of Municipality and Environment Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Rumaihi on Monday issued a Ministerial Decision establishing the Centre for Environmental and Municipal Studies at the Ministry under the Undersecretary's Office.

The Center Ministry will be in charge with the rehabilitation of the Ministry's staff to practice different types of environmental and municipal work and develop their scientific and practical capabilities.

The Center also aims at enhancing inspectors' capabilities and skills for the exercise of judicial control tasks. In this respect, it will organize rehabilitative and educational sessions for the new staff of the Ministry, develop scientific research in the field of municipal and environmental work, hold seminars, meetings and workshops and issue periodicals in the field of municipal and environmental work.

The decision stipulates that the Center will be managed by a director, who will be assigned by HE the Minister and assisted by an advisory body, which includes members to be selected by the Director of the Center after the approval of HE the Minister.

The decision also stipulates that the Center shall provide an annual report including the results of its work, recommendations and proposals to the Office of the Minister of Municipality and Environment to take the necessary action.
