Amman, The National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) has completed the design, delivery, construction, testing and commissioning of the equipment for the South Amman Solar Power Plant (STP) project with a total capacity of 46 MWp in Al-Jizeh District, approx. 8 km southwest of Queen Alia Int. The project, funded by a German grant from the German Reconstruction Bank, aims to draw electricity from the solar generation project with a total capacity of 46 megawatts, reflecting NEPCO's commitment to interconnect renewable energy projects, and use the electric power from these projects, the company said.
According to a press release issued Sunday by the company, the project, which was completed by NEPCO cadres, has featured "accuracy and speed of fulfillment of the company's obligations to contribute to ensuring the security of energy supply in the Kingdom and maintaining the stability of the electrical system."
This facility ("the PV Plant") will be interconnected to the 33 KV substation to be built by NEPCO to connect to the 132 kV Transmission line about 1.5-2 km northwest of the location.
