Karak, Norwegian Ambassador Tone Allers Tuesday visited the city of Karak to get a firsthand look at her country’s financed charity projects in the governorate, some 140 kilometers south of Amman.
The envoy inspected the Zahoum charity projects, aimed at developing the local community’s civil institutions, empowering youth and supporting youth associations and civil community institutions.
The envoy pointed out the deep ties between Jordan and Norway in various fields, noting her country’s keenness to boost cooperation through supporting local institutions and supporting them economically to develop the local community.
Head of the charity, Abdulrahman Malahmeh told Petra in an interview that the ambassador viewed one of the charity’s projects that focuses on enabling local institutions to enhance social solidarity.
He said the project is being implemented in cooperation with Al-Hayat Center for Civil Society Development (Rased), noting that a dairy factory project is one of the charity’s most prominent projects.
