Ramallah, Dozens of Palestinian youths early Sunday suffered suffocation in clashes with Israeli occupation forces in al-Tira west of the West Bank city of Ramallah, according to a Palestinian source.

In a statement, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said the occupation troops raided the house of prisoner Samer al-Arbeed's mother and searched it, noting that violent clashes erupted between Palestinian youths and Israeli soldiers, who fired toxic tear gas canisters against the locals, leaving a number of the youths suffocated.

Some of the suffocation cases were treated by the PSCS at the scene, while the others were transferred to various hospitals in Ramallah, the statement added.
