Parliament chairmen, heads, rapporteurs of standing committees hold meeting

Parliament speaker Yahya al-Ra’i has chaired a meeting in Taiz province that gathered heads and rapporteurs of standing committees of the Parliament.

At the outset of the meeting, al-Ra’i denounced the Arab and Islamic silence and inaction towards the aggression against the Palestinian people by the Zionist occupation forces.

They called on the countries of the axis of resistance to take practical positions away from the language of denunciation and to work to unify positions to confront Zionist arrogance, activate the boycott weapon, and support the Palestinian people in their fateful battle against the occupation forces until victory is achieved, the Palestinian state is restored and the Zionist occupiers are expulsed from the Palestinian Arab lands.

In the meeting, al-Ra’i and heads, rapporteurs of standing committees discussed the implications of the repercussions of the aggression and blockade and the worsening of the humanitarian situation.

The Parliament briefed the chairmen and rapporteurs of the permanent committees and heads of blocs on the topics included in the Parliament’s agenda during the coming period, which will start next Saturday.

The Committee listened to the opinions and observations on all issues, which emphasized the importance of prioritizing issues according to their importance.

The meeting emphasized the importance of accelerating the implementation of the tasks entrusted to the permanent committees in the legislative and oversight aspects, completing the issues and topics referred to them, and providing the Parliament with what has been accomplished, so that it can be discussed in its next sessions.

In the meeting, al-Ra’i thanked the Parliaments members who visited fighters on the fronts during Eid al-Fitr holiday, in gratitude for their positions and steadfastness in the positions of defending the homeland, its sovereignty and independence.

For his part, Deputy Chairman of the Parliament Abdulsalam Hashoul stressed the importance of completing reports and evaluating the Council’s work during the previous period, and standing before the Council’s recommendations that the government committed to implement, and what it did not implement of those recommendations that were previously committed to the Council, with an explanation of the reasons for non-implementation.

Hashoul pointed out that the responsibility between the constitutional authorities is complementary, pointing to the importance of setting priorities for the next stage.

The remarks of the chairmen and rapporteurs of the permanent committees and parliamentary blocs emphasized the importance of standing before the performance of the funds, including electricity, hygiene, public works and roads.

They touched on the issue of oil derivatives prices, stressing the importance of activating the oversight aspect to follow up on the government’s implementation of the Council’s recommendations.

The meeting listened to the message of Parliament speaker addressed the President of the Supreme Political Council, His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi al-Mashat, regarding the recommendations of the Council, which the government side adhered to, regarding the incident of children who died and were injured as a result of the contaminated dose in Kuwait University Hospital.

The meeting also listened to a number of messages related to the same subject and urged the government to fulfill its obligations to implement these recommendations.

The meeting appreciated the efforts made to stabilize the prices of basic and necessary commodities, which were included in the reduction during the last period.

The remarks dealt with the tragic effects of the stampede taken place in a school in the capital Sana’a just before Eid Al-Fitr, which killed 80 and injured dozens in a painful accident.

The meeting held the aggression coalition responsible for the worsening living conditions of citizens as a result of the ongoing economic war it is waging against Yemen, as well as the repercussions of the aggression and blockade.

It called on the international community to assume its legal, humanitarian and moral responsibilities towards the suffering of the Yemeni people and not to continue to ignore that suffering and to take the initiative to save the Yemeni people from the war of starvation, killing and impoverishment practiced by the coalition of aggression and the exile government.

The meeting called on the international community to quickly deal positively with the provisions of the humanitarian and living conditions of the Yemeni people, which require urgent measures to pay the salaries of state employees in all Yemeni governorates and open ports and airports to avoid a humanitarian catastrophe.

It decided to give priority to issues related to controlling the prices of goods and services, discussing the performance of funds and improving services.

The chairpersons and rapporteurs of the committees of the Parliament emphasized the field visits of the permanent committees to follow up on their oversight duties and the implementation of regulations regarding the implementation of recommendations binding on the government.
