Parliamentary Culture Committee Confirms The Necessity Of Completing Tourism And Antiquities Projects In All Governorates

The Parliamentary Culture, Tourism, Antiquities and Media Committee stressed the need to complete projects related to the tourism and antiquities sectors in all governorates of Iraq to attract tourists to tourist and archaeological sites.

Committee member MP Rafiq Hashim al-Salihi said during his meeting with the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities and his accompanying delegation in Basra Governorate: “The committee is supportive of projects related to the two vital sectors to supply the public treasury with financial returns by attracting a larger number of tourists.”

He added: “We accompanied the delegation to see all the tourism and archaeological joints in the province.”

Al-Salihi called for intensifying visits to other governorates to enable them to rehabilitate and develop sites that represent civilizations and possess qualifications that make them a destination for visitors.
