Doha, – The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) announced the implementation of a temporary partial closure on part of Qutaifan Street in the direction to Al Tarfa Street, and the closure of the signal-controlled intersection of these two streets. The closure starts on Thursday 2 March 2017 and lasts for a month, in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic.
The closure aims to improve the layout of the signal-controlled intersections on Al Tarfa Street, which will enhance traffic flow in the area.
During this period, drivers heading from the residential area to Al Tarfa Street can use the local roads in the area to reach the Arab League Street then Al Tarfa Street.
It’s worth mentioning that these works are part of a project to develop roads surrounding Duhail Camp from three directions (north, east and south), in addition to constructing and developing five signal-controlled intersections, service roads and car parks. Project works also include the construction of the surface water network (rainwater), deep micro tunneling works for the main sewage network, paving works, in addition to providing infrastructure for electricity and telecommunications utilities, and implementing the infrastructure for Intelligent Transportation Systems.
