PM visits number of summer centers in capital Sana’a

Prime Minister Abdulaziz bin Habtoor on Wednesday visited a number of summer centers in the capital Sana’a.

Along with several State’s officials, Bin Habtoor visited the Great Mosque Center in the Old Sana’a district, in which 1,500 students joined to memorize the Holy Qur’an and learn its sciences in addition to Arabic grammar and lessons in mathematics, physics, chemistry and other subjects under the supervision of a team from the Ministry of Education.

He explained that the courses and activities are not only to bridge the time gap during the summer vacation period, but also to achieve maximum benefit for students from these qualifying courses in the reality of their daily lives.

The Prime Minister was briefed on the historical manuscripts displayed in the southern wing of the mosque, which include several handwritten copies of the Holy Qur’an written in different centuries starting from the first centuries and other centuries.

He also visited al-Firdaws Mosque Center in Sa’awan district and were briefed on the level of the course of teaching and rehabilitating activities for those enrolled in the center in the religious, scientific and training aspects, and listened to the performance of a number of students in the fields of rhetoric and poetry.

The Prime Minister referred to the importance of the activities and programs of the summer courses, which is an intellectual project that aims to build a generation armed with awareness, faith and knowledge and has a solid will to continue building the country and bear the concerns and issues of its nation.

He stressed that the leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, when he is directed to join these courses, comes from his realization of the importance of this generation and the need to prepare it properly.

He said “These events that are held in such holy places have great meaning and connotations, because when the idea and place meet and are surrounded by officials, teachers and trainers, they contribute to creating a generation capable of assuming responsibility towards its society and country.”
