Doha, - Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index gained 140.20 points (+1.41%) this week when the bourse closed Thursday afternoon at 10,053.95 points.

Trading value during this week decreased by 13.11% to reach QR 1,301,755,541.53 compared to QR 1,498,143,367.66.

Trading volume decreased by 28.84% to reach 46,574,760 shares, as against 65,454,223 shares, while the number of transactions fell by 3.41%, to reach 16,042 transactions as compared to 16,608 transactions.

Market capitalization rose by 1.17% to reach QR 540,144,371,108.15 as compared to QR 533,886,872,730.60 at the end of previous week.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value this week with 26.19% of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 18.72%. Telecoms sector accounted for 15.39% and Insurance sector accounted for 13.72%.

Telecoms sector led traded volume this week with 36.16% of the total traded volume. Real Estate sector accounted for 19.27%. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 19.20% and Industries sector accounted for 9.96%.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions this week with 27.58% of the total number of transactions. Real Estate sector accounted for 18.89%. Industries sector accounted for 18.61% and Telecoms sector accounted for 14.53%.

From the 44 listed companies 31 ended this week higher, while nine fell and four unchanged.

Vodafone Qatar led trading value during this week accounted for 11.85% of the total traded value. Qatar General Insurance & Reinsurance accounted for 7.68% and QNB accounted for 7.38%.
