Doha: Qatari newspapers highlighted in their editorials Tuesday HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani Asian tour of the Philippines, Bangladesh and Nepal, which comes within the framework of Qatar’s keenness on exploring future fruitful partnerships with these countries through the exchange of visits at various levels.

The Qatari dailies underlined that Qatar has been moving steadily towards strengthening its economic partnerships with Asia by increasing trade exchange and promoting investments in various sectors; stressing the significance of HH the Amir’s visits in paving the way for elevating the relations with the three Asian nations to the level of comprehensive partnership.

Under the headline “Qatar and Bangladesh… Historical Ties”, Al-Raya said that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s visit to Bangladesh affirms the great importance Qatar attaches to developing the relation with this Asian nation; as both countries established the diplomatic relations in the 1970s, and are linked by
firm and deep-rooted fraternal bonds.

Qatar and Bangladesh share a common desire to make these relations a model of cooperation and strategic partnership in the Asian region. Both countries aspire to strengthen the economic partnership by increasing trade exchange and enhancing investments in the various commercial and investment sectors in Bangladesh, which is an attractive investment destination for Qatari investments, Al-Raya added.

Aware of Asia’s strategic significance, the State of Qatar attaches special importance to Bangladesh. The relations between the two countries have developed through a series of bilateral political consultations and joint committee meetings, as well as a host of agreements and memoranda of understanding covering many sectors, with the aim of expanding the horizons of cooperation and enhancing mutual trust between the two countries, Al-Raya noted.

In its editorial titled “Qatar and Bangladesh… Close and Sustainable Cooperation”, Al-Sharq said that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bi
n Hamad Al-Thani’s visit to Bangladesh represents an important milestone in the process of bilateral relations between the two countries which span half a century and embody the common desire to be elevated to further advanced levels.

The bilateral discussions are an opportunity to open broad horizons of cooperation and partnership in the economic, trade and investment fields, especially in sectors of priority for the two countries, pushing the distinguished relations towards more close and sustainable cooperation. Meanwhile, the agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two countries pave the way to advance the bilateral relations to new heights, especially in the field of labor, Al-Sharq added.

HH the Amir’s visit to Dhaka is a milestone in strengthening the relations between the two friendly countries. Qatar is working to achieve its National Strategic Plan 2030 which gives priority to economic diversification and enhancing investments in various countries of the world. Both countries are wor
