Doha: Qatari newspapers on Monday noted the horrific number of victims resulted by Israel’s ongoing brutal aggression on the Gaza Strip, especially among children and women, holding the international community responsible for the crime of genocide committed against the Palestinian people.
The Qatari dailies underlined that the children in Gaza were and remain one of the main targets of the Israeli war machine without any deterrent; adding that the policy of killing, abuse, starvation and extermination practiced against the children of the Gaza Strip in particular, and throughout the occupied Palestinian territories in general, aims at forcing the Palestinians to leave their land.
In its editorial entitled “Occupation Crimes against the Children of Palestine”, Al-Sharq said that the children of Palestine are the ones paying the greatest price in the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and throughout the Palestinian territories; referring to the horrific statistics of the martyrdom of more than
13 thousand children, and the injury of thousands of them since Oct. Four children are killed every hour in the Gaza Strip, while more than 600 thousand children in Rafah suffer from hunger and fear, it said.
Al-Sharq praised the “Eid Clothes” campaign for children in Gaza which was launched by the Education Above All Foundation at the initiative of HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, the Chairperson of Qatar Foundation. The paper underlined that the launch of the campaign reflects a deep commitment to humanitarian unity that goes beyond providing direct support to highlighting the issue of Palestinian children at the global level and the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities in protecting them and confronting violations of their rights, and holding those responsible for these violations accountable.
For its part, Al-Raya warned of an Israeli massacres against the innocent in Rafah in full view of the international community which has been giving a blind eye to the Israeli violations
of international law, and its ethnic cleansing crimes against the people of Gaza.
In its editorial entitled “International Cry to Save Gaza”, Al-Raya said that Gaza has been suffering an unprecedented humanitarian tragedy in human history, after the Israeli occupation used starvation as a weapon of war against innocent people in order to pressure the resistance and break the will of steadfastness among the people of Gaza and force them leave their land; wondering about the role of the international community in saving the people of Gaza from the Israeli killing machine.
