Doha, - Governor of Qatar Central Bank (QCB), HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud Al-Thani, discussed with officials in Kazakhstan means of enhancing joint cooperation in the financial and banking sectors between Qatar and Kazakhstan in order to effectuate a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) signed between the QCB and National Bank of Kazakhstan.
In a statement issued Monday, QCB said that HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud Al-Thani met during his visit to Kazakhstan, which he concluded last Wednesday, with the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, HE Karim Massimov, and a number of Kazakh Officials.
QCB Governor was accompanied during the visit by Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA).
The visit witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between QFCRA and Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC).
HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud Al-Thani also met with a number of officials in Kazakhstan, including the Governor of the National Bank, Chairman of Kazkommertsbank, Financial Institutions' Association of Kazakhstan and Chairman of Kazakh Chamber of Commerce.
